Hi folks, I'm making a smoker from a diesel bowser & have welded up two burners from 4mm plate, 500mm x 500mm, which need to be connected to the main chamber.
On the assumption that I'll probably have a 6" or 8" flue coming off the far end of the smoker, what sort of pipe bore size do you think it should be connecting the burners to the main chamber?
I have some pipe that I think is 140mm O/D and about 4 or 5mm wall, so is about 130mm I/D. My gut feeling was that it'd be about right, but I'm also wondering is there maths to this that determines the right size?
The white dotted lines represent the door sizes.
Cheers
