Diamond wheel rpm

Does anyone know what sort of speed this type of wheel is rated at? It's 100mm diameter, I'm hoping to use it to resharpen some brazed carbide tooling.


I got it second hand but it seems to be a generic thing, there's hundreds on eBay from China but none list the speed.

I wouldn't put it on a die grinder but other than that just fit it and go. There's no bursting risk as there is with a normal abrasive wheel.

That looks like it would be used on a rigid machine. Tool and cutter grinder maybe. Speed would be around 3000rpm.

If run too fast it may overheat and glaze.

When grinding the grit/grade appears harder when over speed and softer when run slower

I have an identical one. paid 4 quid for it but haven't bothered using it yet. I think 3000 rpm on 6inch wheels about rite

Yeah we use them at work up to 3250 rpm for that dia.
