Would that clean up a car windscreen where some idiot has been near it with an angle grinder.Nah, jeweller's rouge is deffo cerium oxide. It's a pinky colour too hence the "rouge" name. We've used it in varying grits on site, mainly to polish out specks where some idiot has used a grinder near glass and also to get concrete staining off glass.
Last time I had to lap something I scored a few brand new discs off ebay.
I watched ebay for ages for a cheap optical flat, never saw one. I was to
tight to buy on in the days of 99p ebay items, if you get offered one grab it.

Surface of your windscreen is not glass. It is covered with a plastic film, you need one of those windscreen repair epoxies.
Is that correct? All the screens I've ever looked at are two panes of glass sandwiching a plastic infill in between.

I doubt it. I imagine the pitting will be too deep to make it a viable solution. Best option is a new windscreen. I speak from experience.

What light source do you use with the flat Graffian ?
Composite construction, epoxy an aluminium (?) disk onto a rigid substrate?

Well I'll be damned...
A lucky guess on my part and a FOURTEEN INCH optical flat for the connoisseurs. I forgot about Robrenz it's been so long since he uploaded part one.
This is the beauty of YouTube, learn from some of the very best or (in my case) just marvel at the talent.
