Do you have an electrode holder and a few mma rods, then you test it under load.exactly , just researching the argon costs ,comparing boc with hobby with sgs !

Modern kit yes but with theses old beasts you have 3 options unless modified OFF START CONT, The hf coils will power up whenever the main contacter is closed (as when stick welding) so when stick welding it needs to be in the off position or you get good old school HF down your arm.Wouldn't expect it to make any odds would it? Job to tell from the video the points might need cleaning and the gap re setting do you have two separate sparks one across top and one across the bottom or are they jumping from top to bottom. (may just be the glare in filming).
At least you have a nice healthy hv supply from the looks of that.
