Dexion Racking Advice

I have been offered the job of taking down and disposing of a large amount of bolt together Dexion racking, has anyone any experience of selling this on? It is actually quite an unbelievable structure, a free standing two storey mezzanine floor with two staircases and a dumb waiter in the middle, the flooring is 1.25" tongue and groove wood.

Some photos taken whilst stood on the first floor, the joists just blow me away every time I look at them.......

Dexion went bust a good while ago so as MK says it should be worth quite a bit.

If you end up dismantling it use air ratchets, otherwise you will have a bad case of repetative strain injury !!

Cheap skeleton frame for garden shed anyone?

I was first shown these stores last year and I am still in awe of the man hours that must have been involved building them. It fills the building but is completely free standing within it! All the bolts are 5/16" Whitworth so will need specific spanners & sockets. The lift still works perfectly but will have to come down with each floor as the building has no forklift access. There are around 2400 shelves and most of the flooring is in 16ft lengths and at 32mm thick I dread to think how much the flooring alone weighs! Treated with preservative it would make quite a solid shed.....

I'm thinking that if priced right a lot of sheds could have solid racking and firmer floors!

It was a finished goods stores, Fire safety regs put paid to the continued use over 5 years ago. Would you believe it if I told you the building appears to have been heated since they stopped using it?
