Dewalt rigger boots- don't!

Kept these in the cupboard 'til after the guarantee ran out.....then killed them in a month of pretty light work. Just fell to bits.

They look good, comfortable and fit well, but the tiny label says (and they're 60 quid) Made in China. I got them 'cos my 10 yr old Docs seemed to be nearing needing replacement.

Why do they foist this crap on the world? Like their low rent copies of Elu stuff, never again.

Any suggestions for replacements?

I must admit I've had a few pairs of Dewalt lace up boots and they always been very good, I wear Dewalt Titanuims at the moment, probably the most comfortable boot I've ever had. I did have a problem in that I had a couple of the hooks for the laces break in short period of time, that had never happened on the cheaper version. I contacted Dewalt and directed me to another company that make/supply the boots. I had a bit of wrangle with them as they told me they only had a 3 month warranty! After some emails things did get resolved.

i have V12 riggers, nice and comfy and last me around a year a pair.

Dewalt do two different models, the bog stock ones and the weatherproof ones. The latter aren't too bad but not amazing, the former are absolutely dire. I now wear cofra and they are the warmest, comfiest riggers I've had

You can get some good stuff that you put in your hair and only one treatment.

Is this another example of DeWalt dumbing down? Frittering away their good name by selling poor quality gear at top brand prices. It's not a good business plan for the future.....

HAIX. Ive had haix x21 boots and trekker boots. I wore out the sole on the x21 boots over about 9 months, which is about normal for me, but the boots have a 2 year warranty so I thought I'd try.
I emailed brixworkwear.co.uk in monaghan, where I got them and within a week I had a free replacement pair.
Excellent quality boots and brix workwear are very helpful.

Work recently supplied us with uvex boots. They seem good quality, comfortable too.

Thanks for all the advice fellas- got some ideas to try. I think you're spot on about dumbing down- Stanley seem to have gone the same way. Get the name, ***k the quality, just trade on it while you can and take the profit. Spect they learned it from the banksters.....

Definitely!
I always had the Apprentice or Mason boots from them but the last couple of pairs have been very uncomfortable and don't seems to last as well (not sure if that's down to work wanting ever more out of everybody)
I took a chance on some DeWalt ones on eBay called Camden, they're a US market boot without a CE mark on them. I've found them much more comfortable and better built. Maybe it's us in the UK getting shafted again by the big companies dropping the quality.

I had a pair of UVEX boots years ago and they lasted me ages, best boots I ever had.

gerrymoor what do you expect buying cheap Crocks go for the originals bet they were made in China
