Anyone used these spray guns? Are they worth the cash for the finish? I am building up the gear to keep working on and restoring cars as it is a passion of mine and I like to buy properly and buy once, taking care of my equipment.
I am looking to get show car quality finishes as I would like to start keeping my projects rather than selling them on and starting on the next one.
Budget isnt an issue as such (can save for a few more months to fit the budget) but also dont want to throw money away as I work hard for it.
After painting a couple of flat colours I want to do something fun and different so have decided on my current project being painted with chromacoat peacock (shifts from blues to purples and finally green on a hard flip) so wondered if the dv1-B would help lay this down consistently and easier than a GTI pro-lite.
I am not looking to replicate orange peel for crash repairs and so would like a clear gun capable of helping me get a flat finish.
Ruled out spraying DIY at home and will be renting booth time when i am ready to spray.
Decided 2k is just too much of a risk and have been reading up on it A LOT the last month. Frankly the fact they are allowed to sell it over the counter to the public astounds and frightens me.
Comfortable spraying primer at home and I am able to rent a booth for around £200 a day.
I am hoping I can get 95% prep work done and rent the booth for the base coat and clear.
I plan on using these spray guns for future projects as well and will likely be using them every 18 months or so.
I am not afraid to spend the money if it will make a difference to the finish but dont want to fork out for good marketing.
Any thoughts?
