It sounds like carnage buying a new vehicle nowadays. Surely all this messing around with vehicles plagued with problems, replacement of parts and all the processes involved in that and then the constant replacement of vehicles before time or warranty running out due to a lack of faith and the impending doom of a repair bill for thousands outweighs any emissions saved. Surely a diesel or petrol engine that is made and just works without fault for the long life you can expect from a reliable vehicle is far more environmentally friendly![]()
I wouldn’t put it past one of the members on hear to have a mass spectrometer, in their shed.
Well, if you would take that bloody 500A Migwelder he offered,he would have space for one, wouldn’t he?I think we finally found something that Andrew doesn't have one of![]()
I read somewhere , that a failed dpf re-gen can allow fuel to get into the sump ....

I know a chap who had a new top spec Range Rover - when it broke down after 8000miles - six months from new - the dealer offered him a sample bottle of diesel with a high water content and a quote for £11k for a brand new virgin fuel system.
No goodwill payment - no real explanation - warranty refused - pay or walk!

A friend of mine has bought a brand new Ford van and had loads of problems with it cutting out, going into limp mode etc and it's been back to the dealer numerous times already despite only having done 3000 miles.

I’ll go with your experience as I have no idea.
I have this all on tap for when ever I need it. Used it a while back to do some headspace analysis on oil drums that had been used to store petrol. A man lost his life.
Analysis was so spot on our lab was able to tell me exactly if petrol or diesel. A very power technique

Sitting here waiting for a lorry to arrive with a big generator on it - 11 litre 6 pot Dorman 6LE engine and McFarlane alternator. It's a 110 kVA Puma set (that needs repair)
