Hey No need for that on a family site 
We send turbine oil for test they tell you the contaminants down to which bearing is shedding,, make of oil,and other problems.
Have a colleague who had a Connect problems went on like a horror story, then they said it' out of warranty even though the problems he started with were still there ( intermittent miss, fire limp mode)

You must be talking about a transit custom? I left the Ford dealer where I worked getting on a year and half now, transits had huge issues with oil service lights coming on way to early, had countless pcm updates, modified dip sticks, newer ones plauged with faulty injectors. Push ford customers services on the matter, they are well aware of it

This ^ we have loads of trouble with the transits at work with messages saying they need an oil change, some were almost new and only months old!!!
Emission controls underdeveloped! I don't think any of the manufacturers can produce a diesel that's any good now.

It sounds like carnage buying a new vehicle nowadays. Surely all this messing around with vehicles plagued with problems, replacement of parts and all the processes involved in that and then the constant replacement of vehicles before time or warranty running out due to a lack of faith and the impending doom of a repair bill for thousands outweighs any emissions saved. Surely a diesel or petrol engine that is made and just works without fault for the long life you can expect from a reliable vehicle is far more environmentally friendly

I know a chap who had a new top spec Range Rover - when it broke down after 8000miles - six months from new - the dealer offered him a sample bottle of diesel with a high water content and a quote for £11k for a brand new virgin fuel system.
No goodwill payment - no real explanation - warranty refused - pay or walk!

I read somewhere , that a failed dpf re-gen can allow fuel to get into the sump ....

That happens on VW T5's. I have to keep an eye on oil level on mine and make sure it doesn't rise. There's been many a ruined engine because of high diesel level in oil for this reason.

Surely the fuel filter would trap the water! If it didn't then it's been designed wrong.
Land Rover are taking the P*** with that, why do people still buy them?
Yep ^^^ Ex Vauxhall owner here so I know all about failed (badly designed) EGR /DPF systems!
My Mistsubishi Outlander has an extra mark on the dip stick that when the level gets that far up it needs an oil change

Funny you should mention that, the Cummins 30 litre twin turbo V12 generator we have at work is 20 year old barely gets any used but we send an oil sample away every year for testing.
Mind you, don’t want the fuel dill on 800KVA
