anythings only as good as its weakest point. i learnt to ark weld welding tube and rods onto flat plate of various sizes and thickneses .then did the large hammer test on them to see what gave 1st. if it snapped it was bad welds if it bent a few times before getting fatigue it was ok practice makes perfect
well if you are going for a fracture you are ment to cut along the weld about half way down the plate, befor you try
and a bend, you are ment to grind off the cap and root as well as to raidise off the edges.
