I gave up trying to repair the £9.99 spray gun and bought a new one.
It came with the 'old style' connector and the box said 1/4" BSP inlet.

I have a stock of 'new style' connectors bought whenever Lidl have them in their Magical Middle Aisle of Mystery but none fit. So I bought a Screwfix XF Adaptor Male Thread R1/4, SKU 2015H and described as ¼" BSP Taper Male Thread Connection - but that's the same as my Lidl stock.

(Sorry for the mixed units, but my Lidl digital calipers are set that way!)
I Googled BSP dimensions:
1/4" BSP 13.16mm / 0.518" 19 tpi - same as my Lidl stock
1/8" BSP 9.7mm / 0.383" 28 tpi - presumably the small end of the middle one above and I can't measure accurately.
So what do I put into Google to get a 'new style' fitting for the gun?
Or is this some non-standard fitting?
In the meantime I found I had held onto one old style quick release so I will temporarily fit that to the supply hose.

- Left is the 'old style' fitted to the gun. It is c. 10.65mm OD over the threads.
- On the right is the type fitted to all my other air tools. It is 13.15mm OD.
- In the middle is the only other type I have - it is 9.84mm OD.
