Nice defender repower kit
I think nothing has reduced the amount of discovery's (especially early ones) left in existence as having axles and engines that fit worn out landrovers. That and a disintergrating rear inner bodyshell.

Engine is in a Series 2A, as are the diffs.
Rear axle was rotten
Gearbox had a Goblin living in it
It was at end of life.
Even the mice had moved out!
That's a rubbish design for a wheelbarrow m8

Got it all done and, the angle we were thinking of keeping for the small trailer were too heavy.
The side rails must have weight half the little trailer.
All at recycle yard, 300 kilos of it.
Chopped up with 2 slim 9” disks and 1 thicker (didn't have any fine left), a cold chisel and the reciprocating saw.
