Could you just remove the sedimentor?
I run the 200tdi on SVO so no transesterification in my case but no seal problems.
My original thought though was that defenders (pre td5) didnt (i think) have a sedimetor.
I run an electric lift pump from Facet that kinda does the same job as a sedimentor. I got tired of lift pumps failing which i suspect was in part due to the veg oil.
When I swap the defender chassis I'll likely put a disco sedimenter on the chassis. They have a different design (metal body) and I've never had issues with them.
This one is off the 101. Maybe I should swap that to a disco one too. Anyway, I think they're worth having, if only to attempt to remove the paint flakes that Jerry cans shed.
But, yes, I could remove it.
I'm trying to sort the 101 currently and it's easier right at the moment to just get what's there operational rather than mess about. I'll let "future Julian" deal with decaying seals in 6 months or so!
