Delivery woes

They all have this facility in reality and some of the excuses I have heard are classic. Fraserb and I have over four pages of communication over this fiasco. The second I found out it was DHL my heart sank, THESE are the reviews for one of the Depots, the rest are all the same around here.

I sent Brad a beautiful, unmarked Milling vice, proper English made thing, unmarked. Parcel Farce have lost it. I know why, it weighed 28klilos and someone has said "fek that!". It has really got my goat now, they are claiming because more than 30 days have gone past they can't help me. The only reason 30 days have gone past: They couldn't help me!! You couldn't make it up.

DPD left a 30kg-40kg chuck on my doorstep yesterday. Didn’t even ring the intercom or knock on the door.
DHL chucked two Noga indicator holders over the front wall and the parcel was sitting on the grass. Anyone could of had it away.

Absolute ******** about the vice and a real shame.

last time I looked it was still showing as in their depot in Manchester

3 orders, one company.
All in the lock down.

First order arrived, but the parts were not as I ordered, but was "suitable replacements".
Took 8 emails, 5 days to get a agreed solution.

Second order.
Ordered on a Monday, for next day delivery. Nothing 12 emails, 46 no answered phone calls and then they sent the item out.

Third order. To use the "Credit note up" was placed via their web page, on monday. This is after they failed to answer the phone 15 times.
To find out that 25% of the order can not be found, thus we will refund you. No I said replace it with a suitable substitute item.

As yet no reply to the phone calls.
Their Email are claiming Covid 19 restrictions and lack of staff.

I will not be using them again.

Shame I cam not name and shame.

I used them when the dad ran the place, but the son took over. I stayed with them, as up until the last 4 orders. I have not had an issue.

But this time, it was a complete mess up.
I understand that the current situation is affecting a lot.
But the mess up this bad, due to complete failure of their staff to pick an order and send it out, is not acceptable.

I have spoken to the accounts, they have looked into it. The upshot was the 2 people involved in picking the 2 orders have been spoken to. The admitted, that when they saw it was my number calling. They ignored it.

The up shot is, I have closed my account with them. They tried to keep me. But I said you should of resolved this the first time it went wrong.

I still will use the outlet, but not on line or phone orders.

I have spoken to the "Old Man" he is not pleased.
Upshot, next time we play crib, he is getting a few good "Gold Watches" in for me.

but what made me look up on this occasion was the intense ‘music’ emanating from his vehicle.

The local Hermes route must be undersirable as after years with the same old chap the couriers are being replaced on an ever more frequent cycle. Latest one drives some anonymous unidentifiable white shopping trolley with a comparable set of aftermarket chunes capable of overcoming Concorde on takeoff.

He isn't much worse than one of the domestics who services a client in the care home that was built behind us though. Gawd knows what the old biddie who employs her thinks!

However the good news:
Bearing Boys and Royal Mail again.

Yesterday morning ordered 2 mega expensive high precision bearings for the electric scarifier.

£3.85 delivered 5 day economy free option.

Arrived this morning.

All the couriers I've met seem to be good people just doing a hard job for peanuts per drop.

For more years than I care to remember I delivered for the family business. I probably have more experience than most. If you are incompetent you soon get moved on: "your driver reversed and knocked the wall down" My favorite and commonest: "your driver left the gate open" People are quick to complain and you need to be good as a delivery driver and pleasant and more nowadays. Today my postman delivered, the chap with the Polish accent delivered and the other guy from Amazon delivered. All really pleasant people earning a living. Not DHL though. Never happened. Absolute morons in charge.

There is absolutely nothing stopping you. Unless you signed the Official Secrets Act? (I actually had to once, it was quite intimidating).

All couriers are having a very hard time of it at the moment. Especially us pallet companies.
Volumes have rocketed in the last 2 weeks. Not complaining but all the depots and us have many staff on furlough. Often not from choice but staff who can't come in due to CoVid and also can't work from home.
Hence the staff who are in are all run ragged and really stressed. They are doing 3x as much work as usual.
I treated my staff who are actually in work to Amazon vouchers this week as a thank you.

Mmm. I see your point. Bit of a simple one that though, "despite it all DHL still have not delivered my new laptop". That isn't "naming and shaming". It is a fact.
If you were to just say "and I think XYZ are S**t" I get that, totally opinionated and no facts. Need to stick to verifiable fact and not opinion, not that my opinion has ever counted for much anywhere really!

I will be still using the company. Just not their: Phone Order, Mail order or On Line ordering set up. They don't seam to be able to get it right.
But the shop itself was staffed by good people.
