Delivery drivers!!

our lass gets that much delivered I took the pee out of her I said kevin called today . who s kev she said . the delivery driver im on 1st name terms with him hese here that bloody often I wont put the reply I got on here

I'm on first name terms with most of the drivers, who will wave to me if we meet on the road. This includes the Postman (Steve), the Parcelforce man (Adrian), the UPS man (Mac) The Hermes girl (Angie) etc etc

All ours pretty good these days and some of them have travelled 35+ miles from the depot.

It's not a job I'd want to do and I can understand peoples frustration when they are waiting for a parcel. I always have a chat with them and say thanks. Not aimed at anyone here but I know people who have the opinion that it's their job and shouldn't need thanks but a bit of courtesy goes a long way. If I have a delivery around Xmas and it's one of the regular drivers I always stick 4 beers in a bag for them.

The bit that bugs me is I've had the drivers on timed deliveries sit and wait because they were early. I had two deliveries on the same courier one day but I'd sent one to my wife's work, she spoke to the driver and got the second one. He just took the label off so he could scan it later.

Only one that really wind me up are Royal Mail,with their little note saying the letter/parcel is to big to post,even though they've been informed and permission granted to leave it in a safe place.
Had this happen a few times,which is annoying as i could only pick it up on saturday(day off)
Copped the postie one day when i was in,saw the note and chased after him,"wheres the letter you cant post?", "erm i dont have it","say what?",Apparently it was at the sorting office,who they decide that its to big to post through the letterbox and tell the proper postie to drop the note in instead

Back in the winter I was expecting a delivery and was surprised it hadn’t arrived. Looked everywhere for it. Then went to de-ash the fire................

Deal with couriers daily.

Been waiting over 8 days for tnt to come collect a parcel, because drIver turned up too late last time, (after we had locked up and gone home) that he tried to refuse to collect. Turns out he turned up approx 8pm at night to a works address.

We send out approx 15 items a day with dpd and have minor issues etc.

Now I prefer sending stuff to work as there is 15 of us to sign for it. No excuses, well that is until it gets delivered 1/2 mile down the road to the next company.

DPD are the best I've had, their live tracking app tells you where they are, how many deliveries away and even the drivers name

I generally get a text and phone call of some delivery drivers. its a long road when they put the postcode in and they cant find my house

UPS say "Delivery by end of day", which isn't much help.

I get lots of parcels, and make it a point of chatting to them, even if only to say thanks. I’ve also had umpteen conversations extended due to timed deliveries. Very frustrating for the drivers when the addresses are only 5 minutes apart.

Had that too. Exactly the same thing, standing there while sheepish postman hands me note. “Where’s letter” says I “Didn’t bring it, thought you’d be out”.

I work from home, hubby is retired, we are hardly ever both out at the same time. Posties know this now, and we get EVERYONE in the streets parcels dropped off here now.

Being centre post code in a spread out rural community ain't no fun post sat nav I can tell you that !
Some of the drivers are just given a name and a postcode which is a disgusting practice by thier bosses and I pity them especially on time constraints.
On average I get two a day during the working week that ain't for me and its hard to turn in my yard sometimes..

Its become a thing not to say thank you. Some should put themselves in the other pair of boots
I have grown to appreciate a good thank you as much as a cheque for the ballance on finishing a job. Can't see why others would not feel the same especially those who don't pick up direct payment for each job just a wage baxed into thier account.

Had a fitting for my shower disintegrate on tuesday.
Replacment was due today.
Wife stayed In especially as its for a customer and ive removed the second bathroom today.
Various texts from parcelforce notifying me of status. Delivered at one pm.
Text states unable to deliver left at no 20.

Heres the kicker. There is no number 20 on this road. Odds go to 25 evens go to 12.

Bit of door knocking and discovered they got the right house number but the wrong street.
Finish the shower tomorrow.

The same has happened to me on several occasions. For some reason some satnavs seem to send people to the wrong road, which is just an extension of mine, different postcode though. I've had parcels and take-away deliveries to the wrong house, in which a celebrity chef lives, so many times we're on quite good terms. Mind you, he's never cooked me a meal, or even a pizza

Myhermes delivery arrived safely though cheers. He dreads my house. Old boy and all my parcela are large, heavy or both.

No issue with postcode finding my address. Recon the driver is directionally dyslexic

I don’t have a letterbox I have a mailbox on the wall
Came home a few weeks back to find a you weren’t in so we left it in a safe place card sitting on top of the parcel in the mailbox
