dehumidifier advice please

it is what it is ......its only money, if it keeps the damp down for the cnc table then its worth it

Approx £740 per year on the Meaco linked a couple posts back, that’s running at speed 2, 24/7

In actual use I’d guess it will be significantly less if a heating element is cutting in and out but no way to calculate that from the spec sheet available

£740 seems a bit unlikely, my monthly payments are just over £100 and the dehumidifier runs all winter although it does turn itself on and off

£740 at 12p/kwh is..

~6166kwh/year

~16.8kwh/day

which means it would have to pull 700watts 24/7

seams a bit much to me too, guess it depends how big it is... and if it has a stat fitted to turn the compressor off when the air is dry enough?

Desiccant types are the best in a typical British winter. They also put out some heat.
For summer use a compressor type is best - I have both.
They do tend to use a fair bit of electric .

Quick google says uk average price is 13p/kWh, spec sheet claims 650W.
It’s higher on the top setting but not much.

650 is more than I expected... compressor must be getting on for 3/4 hp?

I use one to dry my clothes... little home one in the cupboard under the stairs then hang clothes in there... works really well... I think it's only 180 watts tho
