ok I am about to degrease the clutch gears on my winch what concoctions do you guys use?

I was thinking diesel and brake cleaner or petrol as I have that at hand

that will work I have both of those I also have some kerosene in the heater I am selling ;-)

To add to the mix (of the thread, not your tank) I have my parts washer filled with Jizer... there's not a lot of paint left on the tank after ten years and the pump has started to disintegrate. Apart from that it takes days to wash out of your skin and any contaminated clothes have to be quarantined by men in white suits, encased in glass and buried in an undisclosed location near Drigg in Cumbria...

i have heard good things about jizzer

as above, but you're right. I've used Jizer quite a lot at work and it's pretty good stuff, heavy deposited need a bit of soaking but it can be to see off quite easily.

Depending what it is in decreasing but more often I use FE10, it's a fast drying solvent and doesn't leave any residue.
