Welded the missing corner of this little anvil , gonna be a decorative piece, built it up using 312 rods , been in the cupboard for years
very pleased with the outcome !
To be fair, I think your anvil as still got a bit of life left in, as opposed to it becoming an 'objet d'art'.
Most people new to blacksmithing, hobbyists and so called 'bladesmiths' will rarely if ever use the rear third of an anvil.
As long as any user is made aware of the repair (great job by the way), I can't see where's the problem. At the end of the day, it's just a tool and you've effected a repair that has extended its useful life. Well done.
That's a nice size for a home hobby workshop. I looked for a long time to find a little one,14 kilos. Big enough to do many jobs, and very easy to move around.
I'd bet it could be repaired to be used again ,if is steel ...
Maybe drilled through taped , some grade 12 ISH bolts beveled and a dump of 7018's , after a good preheat.
Obviously let cool down very slowly as if was cast iron
