Would they cancel if you are quick? The neoprene is worth having!Bugger never noticed that bit, big socks it is!
25 Years ago I spent a lot (then) of money on a pair of green Hunter wellies. I had them 3 weeks and kicked the dogs ball, he jumped for it and his tooth went straight through the toe…..
I put a blob of rubber dinghy repair stuff (just like silicone) on it and had those green wellies with a black blob repair for 15 odd years until the soles wore out..
That's worse than my joke matewhat make do they use in walesthey would need to be pretty robust

Im at a loss to understand what you do to a pair of wellys to last a few months walking the dog!
For work Dunlop. Never had a puncture from rebar, nevermind the odd Bramble. Constantly covered in concrete (washed down) no cracks.
Is it believing the hype, to justify pending too much on overpriced crap.
I'd rather not have ankle support, it weakens the small muscles of the foot and ankle, limits movement and means I'd need tall socks that greatly irritate and strangle my legs.A good pair of waterproof boots are a little like hens teeth.
I have spent reasonable money (£100+) on boots that are great for 3 months, then start letting water in.
Now I use Aigles for really wet, or casual wet walks.
For serious stuff (Beating etc) where I need ankle support, I'll wear a pair of British army boots and gaiters. Not comfy. Not waterproof, but don't let too much in, and I know they will just shrug off the thorns/brambles/rocks/tree roots.
Which do you use @Kram ?
It will be the way you bend in them rather than the brambles. Walking on steep ground with the toe bending up will be worse than flat ground. Absolute worse thing for them seems to be driving in them. Bending in funny angles repeatedly with the pedal movement.
'The way I bend them'. I dont think so.
Constantly working on road forms and general concreting. Must be up with working in cow or pig **** all day, for the worst condidtions a welly can go through. barr Chems
I am sorry I forgot I hadnt worked on site![]()
My mrs does similar with “country boots” theres the old everyday pair, then theres the ok to pick little Bob up from school/ nip to the shops pair, theres the go out decent pair, and the really posh go out pair!@Ton-up
Edit: Asked wifey for the record? How many pairs of wellies she owns. She has two pairs of leather lined Le chameau wellies and two pairs of Le Chameau short chelsea dealer type rubber boots for gardening in... Plus she got a pair of Arxus Primo wellingtons from Sweden as well - not sure what these are? - but they sound expensive. And she reckons she just bought my eldest daughter a set of Ariat Burford ones for a gift (with a matching wellie bag). Plus she has a pair of old Hunters in the shed when she feeds the chickens and it is raining...
Told you "middle aged bints" have a thing about expensive wellies....
Mine showed me her posh Dubarry's that i bought for her birthday a few years ago. The soles are falling apart. Shocking consodering their cost!My mrs does similar with “country boots” theres the old everyday pair, then theres the ok to pick little Bob up from school/ nip to the shops pair, theres the go out decent pair, and the really posh go out pair!
