If you want a low entry try looking at Sealey 2001LEBL or the SGS equivalent (all the same jack as far as I can tell). Heavy though.

have u checked the oil level....? they r often shipped at a low leval to start with........

anyway, My Bradbury Jackette got nicked and I replaced it with a Halfords 2 tonner and a couple of axle stands.......
they r still going strong some 30 years later ....and get reg use.........
if I had to do it again I think I'd buy the Ally version now......just cant lift em into the van anymore without struggling....

Yes, that was my first thought but level is fine. The jack works normally upto 1/2 stroke & wont go any higher, suspect I may have another score mark as with the jackette

Keep an eye out for another Bradbury, nothing else comes close. Chances are it may have been possible to get the cylinder sleeved ? I brought mine new in 1976 , used it daily for years and still going strong

Never considered getting the bradbury resleeved, has contemplated trying to hone the bore to remove the score mark. Your right the bradbury was a superior bit of kit

My Clarke piston seal broke up and embedded debris in the oilways and as the reservoir body was welded to the base I could not get all the bits out. You might be luckier than me and yours come apart.

I have a Bradbury Jackette 1.5 ton in the shed. The pump seal leaks if it is lowered and laid flat so I store it stood up on end and it works and doesn't leak in use. It has a brilliant quick lift to start it off. I have a 3 ton SGS as well, I didn't realise it was so big when I bought it. It was about £100 with a set of axle stands which are really good.

nice to use. No 2 son has one.

Otherwise Halfords is as good as any.

Always assuming yours doesn't just need topping up and bleeding.

I have that exact one, I didn’t get it from Costco but paid about the same. It’s heavy but feels really solid and is nice to use, both raising and lowering. To be honest I’ve only ever had 1.5/2 tonne trolley jacks at home, from Halfords or Machine Mart, and the Arcan one is a huge improvement!

Kwick Fit used them, but that was because they were on lease hire.

I've got that 3 tonne low profile jack. It is really heavy and a bit unwieldy if you are moving it around in small spaces. I think it lists at 35 kilos. I don't enjoy lifting it over the sill of the garage side door or tidying it away in its spot in the garage.

The main reason I would buy an aluminium one!

We've had a load of Sealey ones in the car workshop.
The steel ones, various options like low profile, or quick lift - last 5-6 years with daily use.
The aluminium ones that I bought for my infrequent use - a couple of years tops, they are absolute garbage.

sorry yes, it can't have been that model, as it was a low entry. I thought it was from ECP, and assumed they'd changed colours - his is similar, but low entry, and grey with yellow wheels... Now I have no idea what model or make he bought
