I have acquired the above Mig Welder but when trying to weld (trigger pulled) their feed stops, then after a couple of seconds it will feed again. When the wire feed stops the wire melts back to the tip , but not burning the tip. Does anyone have any ideas on this problem. I,m looking at Clarke 151en or the Clarke MIG 145 if its bin it and buy a new Mig

If you look top right of any page you'll see a 'custom search' box. Type in Deca mig and you'll see lots of stuff that's gone before on here about the make, some of which may help you.
Does the wirefeed stop and then restart if you just squeeze the torch trigger without trying to weld ? ( i.e. just let it spool out ).
If you pull off the shroud and unscrew the copper tip from the end of the torch does the wire feed correctly?
Make sure the wire spool turns freely, and try increasing or decreasing the drive roller pressure.
Does the wirefeed motor and drive roller run continuously, or does that stop and start too? ( i.e. is it the drive failing or is the wire jamming inside the torch lead? )

The wire feeds perfect with the shroud and tip in place , but when acing up the wire burns (melts) back to the tip. Then after a couple of seconds the wire will feed again, then back to the start - arc-wire feed stops-wire melts back to the tip.I think i am going to buy a new mig welder
No spot weld on the welder, yes it feeds without interruption, then when I go to weld the wire melts back to the tip, and the feed stops.The gas is flowing throughout. Ive had a look inside the welder and I can't see anything amiss with the wiring
Sounds exactly like the symptoms of having the wire feed far too slow for the volts you are putting through it.
It's possible that this is one of those small machines that get power for the wirefeed from the main welding current. ( Larger machines have a separate auxiliary power supply, from a small transformer that continuously supplies 12v or 24v, used for the gas valve, wirefeed motor, and control electronics. )
When you strike an arc, a fault is causing the weld voltage to drop away, so you get a weak current that just melts the wire rather than sustaining an arc. Due to the "shared" source, the power for the wirefeed also sags. There may be a high resistance in the weld current path, caused by a poor connection. I would suggest opening, inspecting and cleaning all connections in the high-current path from the transformer secondary, through the rectifier, to the ground clamp and the torch. In the rectifier, gently nudge the small wires that should be joined to the top of each diode. The contactor ( heavy-duty relay that operates when you squeeze the torch trigger ) may also be in this secondary path, rather than in the primary circuit. The terminals may be paralleled-up to share the load - check for tightness. The actual contacts inside may be burned, which would cause this voltage drop under load.
