Our village isn’t like that, sensible growth has been allowed but this isn’t sensible. Four houses in a back garden remove all privacy from the neighbours on three sides. It won’t hapien
It might though as this type of development is set out in the governments planning framework.... They have done at least a dozen or so houses in the local village and plan to do the pub car park... When a piece of legislation is set down by central government the grounds for objection become much harder and each LA MUST find suitable plots. Likewise Councils will automatically object to developments that are outside of the standard framework, as it can set a countywide president and even cause the LAs to be fined.
Money also plays a part if someone has the cash to throw at getting PP approved chances are it will work, again Councils have to justify why they spent £50k on a legal battle, if the impact of the development is less than the cost of objection then it will go through.
Not commenting if that's right or wrong but that is the way planning..... I know a reasonable amount about planning law, unfortunately not enough to get a nice little 5 acre development.

The local tree huggers have been having a bitch fest over BR strip clearing the railway banks in the village, they failed to see my argument that up and down the country BR are doing battle with hundreds of tons of regrowth a day, they also cant see that its unacceptable to have trees falling across the track or taking out fences, they really do believe BR should be pruning trees and planting /sowing wild seed . I wonder if they would also bitch about a hike in railfares to cover all of this
It must have played on her mind
For 14 years later when her 30 foot Leyandi's took over almost 1/3 of the width of her garden she got them cut off at ground level as well . As a result I've had one of the best cropping years in the raised gardens & glasshouse sine we came here .
