So trying to sort some out once we have kept the ones we think we will use.
I have found an assortment of ME some 32TPI and some 40 TPI but also a small box labeled ME48TPI which I have never seen or heard of and cant find any info?
Doest any one use BSF?

Remember the table in the Sprinter? Well the Tap and Die Pile is of similar weight and I keep finding more!

No that is a perfectly normal thread, for me, what is a weird thread is 6-48 needing a #31 tapping drill, not even listed in machinery's handbook.

I have several drawers of taps and dies that will be skipped when I go because they are really out in left field, for my own amusement I will make a list.
They have also cost a bloody fortune. Worth nothing.

I would treat them as unknown for now. The simple interpretation of ME is model engineer (but 48tpi is not usually included in tht series). This thread is Whitworth (55 degree) form. Your later categorisation as UNS is UN (60 degree) form.

So if you want to call them UNS, you need a good explanation for the ME letters stamped on them.
