i am working on my sankey-style workshop trailer, and have got the chassis upside down, and ready to de-rust, paint, and underseal.
unfortunately, i'm working on the front lawn, so i cant use an angle grinder wire brush or flapdisk to take off the worst.
and obviously taking it somewhere for sand blasting is out of the question.
so...
suggestions for chemical derusting?
i'm wondering whether a "paint" of flour + citric acid (i have plenty of both), then pressure washing after 48 hours will get rid of the "loose" rust.
i've then got some "direct to rusty metal" jotun conseal touch up or some high-zinc primer(which again, says it can be applied to "lightly rusted" metal.
pic shows 'bad" bits.
its a 20 y/o chassis, about 3mm thick, so i'm not overly worried about "structural" rust - if i can get rid of the worst and tidy it up, ready to use, it will be enough.
