Dayton 1Z88 Voltages?

Hello everyone. I just recently picked up an ancient Dayton 1Z88 welder. It's got a 220V plug from the 80's according to my dad, but on the welder itself it has two voltages listed. 110-220 Volts, 28-14 Amps. Does that mean that I'd be able to run this on either 110 AC or 220AC, so long as I have a breaker that supports the amperage load? Here's some pictures of the welder.

Any info on this hunk of steel is also greatly appreciated. I have no clue about it, other than it's old, heavy, and is supposed to work.

well it looks like its just a transformer without seeing the input its difficult to say id that is switched, but I expect not. that will give you,

four settings like a low end mig with taps off a transformer
low 1
low2
high 1
high 2

Yes,
110V at 28 amps
220V at 14 amps

The most you can get from a normal, dedicated 110V outlet is 20A, 15A from a normal plug. Above 20A would probably need to be direct wired to a disconnect box.

So, you will need a dedicated supply anyway, might as well be 220V. I used a dryer plug/outlet to run some welders (current use a 50A type used on ovens.)

There should be a set of terminals and jumpers inside to run 220 or 110V. Pictures would help.

Yeah, it is just a giant transformer. A friend made me realize that there isn't even a power switch on it, so I gotta learn to be handy with the plug so I don't fry myself.

I'm debating about taking it apart or not, but because it weighs like 50 pounds I'm not sure I will. I don't feel quite like crushing my fingers trying to get everything lined back up. And if I do take it apart, I'll want to repaint the outside and make it look nice, but that might kill it's original look, and yeah.
