Curiouser and curiouser. I d/load GOM and tried on the pc. It seems to have converted all the files to it's own format but said it couldn't find the file, despite the fact i could see it/them and all the info as to time & date it was recorded and how big they were?
So, uninstalled GOM and now the files are back to QuickTime format. Quicktime tells me to install Apple Application Support, which Google/YouTube tells me is a file in the Q/time d/load and needs to be installed separately, but after d/loading rarlab.com to access the file in the QT d/load already executed.
My head hurts now and I'm going to pack this in for a day or two and come at it with a fresh eye.
Thanks again for all the help. advice and suggestions folks.
