What type of ferrites, clamp-ons or rings?question on the ferrites...
ive got 2x ...tried one at each end both at one end , dont seem to do a huge amount, is there anypoint in trying more ? when is enough ?
Clamp-ons you buy online are as much use as tits on a bull. They're of totally unknown origin, of unknown material, and very hit and miss.clamp on ..one is a tight fit the other big enough i can loop it twice
DAB is Band III circa 220MHz.
Right. I must remove 7 turns from my LAN cables right away. How many turns!? You shouldn’t be doing 7+, the ferrite will saturate, generally two for a properly sized ferrite.
Is new PSU linear or switched mode? edit: I see that you have built the linear. Did you add the stabilisation capacitors? You should have 0.33uF in the input and 0.1uF on the output. Cut the leads really short and solder direct to the device pins, close to the body of it.
You could get some WF100 satellite cable and strip it for the braid. Carefully tease it over the full length of the cables and take down to a good earth at one end only. Wrap the cable with fluffy or plastic loom tape, not insulation tape which will come unstuck and ooze adhesive everywhere.
Had an issue with a road angel like this, the dab kept losing signal. turned out to be the cig lighter power supply that came with it. I changed it for a different make and it solved the problem straight away.
