Usual problem, wife trying to sell her old house 1860 brick farm cottage, semi. Next door been empty a few years, hers been empty since February.
Internal wall is damp 3/4 the way up,no mould, paint is powdery, regular emulsion.
When she purcha it 23 years ago ,this area was damp a foot up the wall,it remained like this until tenants moved out in February,so maybe as a result of unhabitation during this short period?
Shes just had a buyer pull out due to this but as its 200miles away it’s not easy to just nip down and open windows put some heat on ,then return a few weeks later to evaluate and make an informed decision .
Any experienced renovators here had this problem and dealt with it effectively?
Thanks.
