Damp problem at work

Looks like a nice working space. In the uninsulated end is something leaking the other side of that wall with the green on near you steel rack?

Yeah I noticed the same in my garage today, everything was covered in a damp film (even more than usual, I do get some damp in there but today seemed particularly bad. Assume it's the weather as said above?)

Yep same here everything is sweating dew!
It's because it's suddenly warmed up after days of freezing cold.
The concrete and metal are cold, the air is warm = condensation.
I think I'm going to get some ACF 50 to spray everything with at least it'll stop it rusting.

Everyone's giving sound advice ^^^ I recon.

My suggestion though, seal it up and heat/dehumidify. Ventilation will not help you if your stuff is cold and it's warm and muggy outside, in fact, it'll make your anvil rain faster than ever.

Thing is, you don't need to keep everything toasty all the time. I try to keep an eye on the forecast and if it looks like a sharp temperature change, I try to bung a load of wood in an old woodburner to get the building up to temperature ahead of the outside temp rise.

The southwest of the country is much worse for the "everything's slimy" days than elsewhere.

What about the floor, is it still the original cowshed concrete ? Had real damp issues in our workshop, as it had an old concrete floor, history and quality of floor Unknown.We ended up putting a "plastic" Tile floor in, this almost completely eradicated the damp and condensation. The workshop is a timber and steel construction lined with plasterboard and mostly uninsulated, it also has lots of draughts.

I should act with caution in a welding shop putting down s floor that is in any way flammable
