Have a look for the nuaire drimaster or a similar product, simple to install and they work wonders for damp caused by condensation.

Looks pretty good. Need something like that myself.

Fair enough, have no real experience of them, just thought it sounded like a good idea!

Solid brick walls are going to be prime candidate for condensation, warm moist air rising from downstairs and cooling on the walls.
A dehumidifier would help + extract fans on the cooker and bathroom and as other have mentioned a brain transplant if they are drying clothes out indoors.

Due to roof shape it is often difficult to get loft insulation right into the edges/corners and you end up with a cold spots.

I've got to fix this soon – two small patches of mould, in different corners of the house. Went around with my IR thermometer, and those corners are noticeably cooler.

I got cavity wall insulation put in free of charge, courtesy of the government. I could have had roof insulation for free too, but my loft is like my garages, stacked out with stuff. We've noticed the house is much warmer over the last few years and have had no problem with condensation.

I got a phone call from a firm telling me it now needs to be removed as it causes condensation. I declined as we have no mould or condensation.

People do not ventilate their houses or flats enough and things like showers, tumble driers and drying clothes indoors is the problem. In my day the washing was done by hand and hung out on the clothes line till dry. A bath once a week and only an inch of hot water too.

A Nuaire unit is on order. £300. I've opted for one with the controls in the loft so the tenants will have to go out of their way to fiddle with it. And having it delivered to the letting agent, I don't want to see it on ebay next week. Thanks for the information jimbo84.
No wonder I am selling off my properties, one per financial year, too much aggro and too much red tape these days.
