Right here goes, following my brain fart earlier I made some progress.
The machine is industrial mixer. It has a dahlander two speed motor.
The original timers are obsolete - Fiber T45 Sc.35 mechanical timers.
I was told to buy "Sitech" timers however they're very expensive and would require cutting much larger holes in the control cabinet of the machine.
So I bought a pair of Finder 88.02 timers thinking that as they're multifunctional I must be able to get them to do what the old timers did - the plug-in bases were even the same.
Plugged them in, nothing. Not working at all. Balls.
So I played around and tried to do some research and put the new finder relays in AI and BE mode which made no difference really.
So, I decided I would remove the old unlabelled wiring, and try to wire up the new timers as per the Sitech wiring diagram.
However, here I made some mistakes.
I mixed up a pair of NO & NC contacts.
I've also now realised that the Sitech timer appears to use the positive 24V to activate start and the memory function. Whereas I'm fairly sure the finder 88.02 needs to use the negative (or in my case the neutral line) to activate the start switch.
Anyways, one of my timers went pop and released the magic smoke. £80 down the drain but a learning opportunity none the less.
So what I need to do is order another timer, and get the multifunction timer to act like the Sitech timer.
Please could you knowledgable gents have a look at the Pin conversion drawing I've posted and let me know if I'm on the right track?
I will now have to amend the wiring diagram in order to switch a negative instead of a positive. Not sure how to achieve that yet.
