Is this an engine cylinder Kim?
Unless its showing damage and low compression caused by the damage I wouldn't bother. Please do not think I am picking on you, but the engine in question is from a 1946 Ransomes crawler. It is not high technology, or high performance and it will not be driven even 100 miles a year. Whatever we suggest needs to bear that in mind.
You are not racing it are you?????
It’s a ransomes, stick whatever down it and crack on. It’s not the pinnacle of fine engineering
I bet it’s not done enough work to be worn! Bit of wet and dry down the bore to take the rusty bits off and boom doneTrue, that said if the bores are straightened up and file fit rings are used at least it wont be an old smoker.

Once went to a car show with Tractor pulling and Lawn Mower Racing it was a great day out. This made me laugh
Although you never know what Kim might do with it...
The Lisle 15000 in the righthand image at the top is a rigid hone. You lock them to a fixed diameter and hone, and you can feel progression by the drag. Even then you can hone geometry problems in with them so you have to keep stopping and checking. I've never owned a lisle branded hone head to comment on their specific quality
