I used to cycle in London, the cycle superhighways are great if you're a bit nervous or not in a rush. However, I also rode a motorbike a lot and always felt more comfortable overtaking cars when on pushbike facing oncoming (as opposed to undertaking in the cycle lane) traffic, like you would on a motorbike. It is much harder to minimise the dangers when undertaking. As for overtaking cyclists on a main road around corners where there's a double white line, I don't blame the two abreast cyclists, you should be out into the other cariagway to overtake them safely anyway, unless they're going super slow and you can make the manouver at very low speed.
