Cutting discs

We've always used Wurth discs at work, then the boss bought some Dronco ones, after the first few mm of diameter they just turned to dust I think the Wurth ones last 3-4 times longer.

While I completely agree. There are many variables.

Cutting speed
If the discs are damp
If the steel is allowed to "vibrate/chatter" excessively.
If the disc has a little bit of damage this generally causes it to wear very quickly.

I tended to use blue spot ones due to price but after a mammoth welding job on my Disco i found them to turn to dust and wear out far too quickly! I then tried Bosch ones bought from a local ironmongers and I wasn't impressed with them either as they didn't seem to last much longer than the cheapy blue spot ones!

So I then went to another local ironmonger at the weekend there and got 25 1mm Euro Flex discs - they were a bit pricey at £1 a disc but they are fantastic and last ages giving off little to no dust!
