Cutting an oak worktop.

I've managed to cut the corner out and shorten it without major mishap!

How can I replicate this edge?

This is the kitchen worktop and I'd like to have the same on the utility one but although I have a router I cant even remember when I last used it!
Is there a certain type of router bit I can use?

18mm straight flute
30mm bushing In the router
Cut the curve into a bit of 12mm mdf
Set the template up remembering that the router bit cuts 8.5mm away from the template.
Do one shallow pass. Trim the bulk with a jigsaw then clean up with the router

Ah I meant the chamfer on the edge not the rounded corner. That's me not explaining it properly!
That's the breakfast bar in the picture but the other one im working on is just a normal worktop .

Find a bearing cutter with the right profile.

And always test it's setup on a scrap

Thanks, it looks like a 45° chamfer that's then had a light sanding over. Are the Trend router bits from Screwfix any good?

I bought the Trend router set in the end and now my favourite tool is the router!


I haven't use it in years but after a little test on the worktop off cut I did the chamfer and it come out well!
Measured for the sink cut out and used the track saw to do the majority of the cuts then got the old Worx jigsaw to finish. After hacking large lumps out of the carcass the sink is in



It's a huge sink not leaving much support under it but it's ok and looks good!
The smile says it all!
