Hello.im thinking about buying a used snap-on autocut25 plasma cutter,i take it these are good machines? what should i look out for when looking at it?what sort of price if in used condition? and what size compresser would i need to run it ? thanks alot ryan
I think that is the same as mine, does it look like this?
Same as the Century, older Lincoln, and Marquette plasmas. There is also an older model that is just a plain metal box.
It is a good, low-tech (transformer type) cutter. Not much to go wrong. My only complaint is the torch. Consumables are harder to find and expensive (snap-on wants $28 for an electrode, HTP wants $4.) If the torch is bad, you are looking at an expensive replacment.
nope it looks more like a cheap little welder, hopefully il see it this week and try it out,he said he would replace the cutting tip so thats one less thing to worry about, thanks ryan..
Is that the one that has been dropped on the floor?
I thought about it, I reckon whilst he and the previous owner may have not used it much, the ones previous to them have used it a fair bit!!
I'd guess if it works it should be okay, if it is one of the transformer ones like the old arc welders, then there ain't much to go wrong, like shenion said.
I guess it depends what you call cheap?? don't see anything go for less than £100
