did you work out what component it was that fried in pic 3 and 4
i have a cut50 here with cover off.
top board is out due to cement resistors.
what board is your pictures of.

Thanks for that Skotl, wow good job well done. I had read this before I had joined the forum and I've seen your famous you tube video too. I didn't realise why the pics never loaded but it was I just needed to join. Great info and well done for sticking with it. Hi Stuart,
It's the bottom board. I have cleaned it up today with some 50 year old malt as mentioned earlier (smiley face) I don't know what the component is yet I can see 2R2 printed on the component and there is something written underneath, ill se solder it tonight and see what it says. Here is a pic of the board and the component component. Thanks very much for the help.

Hmmmm... where is that on the board - I can't identify what's to the left of it but, if it's a cap, it looks like it's burst.
Can you get another pic of the 2r2 but just pull the camera back a wee bit so we can see his neighbours?
I'll try to get into my cut50 tonight and find the similar board.

Not economically, I don't think (unless you want to import from China).
There was a UK company mentioned on here before that did boards but they were £100+ each, when the cut50 is coming in at £150 to £170.
Also, to be honest, the boards are not complex or difficult to fix for someone with basic/medium electronics experience, and the components cost pennies.
