I have sent the broken one back and explained in nice words that Trading Standards, PayPal and CE will be informed if things were not put right!
I am now recieving a new machine with extra anncilaries, tested by himself (wow). Very odd that consumer pressure works now and again!( And extra confidence!)
Hi,
sorry Drains I have to disagree on one point...
anything will break if you force it above the manufacturers maximum spec.
These 40A cutters are rated to cut 12mm max. 25mm is over-stressing the components.
Factor of safety/margin for user error about 2:1, sounds about right to me.
Regards
Peter
Peter. If you try to cut 25mm on that machine, it should cut a cruddy groove and throw dross everywhere, and mess up the tip. At worst, you'd destroy the torch. The machine should not be affected.
The components are not being overstressed. It's the same as me trying to throw a ball half a mile. I can't. It won't break my arm though!
