Always remember, when one door closes, you can open it again. That's how doors work!got to be said, seems like an 'open and shut' case.

nope i wouldntI'd still acknowledge the complaint and put forward that you've passed by and noted the damage to the gate
and see what actions they would do and how far they would goMy response would be to be "helpful". Write back expaining that it is the first you have heard about any dissatisfaction and enclosing either a copy or a link of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
It'll not get to court, but if you get any bluster, I would like to write the defence documents for you.

Sounds like the clown is an absolute chancer, so I doubt you have anything to worry about. So I’ve been and have a look as far as I can see they have had a one gate changed and a post replaced but as I was sat in the van a neighbour came out and tapped on the window apparently the gent who live there has tried reversing onto the drive and hit the gate damaging it and the post so they have had another company go and alter/repair it she has said she will tell anyone the same so needless to say I won’t be refunding any monies paid to me I’ve heard nothing from the customer since anyway
assuming you had been paid for the original job and they are just chancing there arm ?i know this would be an easy time in getting back at them as others have said if you could get a statment from the nextdoor
but is it realy worth itassuming you had been paid for the original job and they are just chancing there arm ?
send them a letter saying you have looked at the job seen xyz been changed and a person that lives close has spoken to you and said they seen them hit the gage with the car
then get on with your life dont do any more jobs for them

I just wouldn't bother, your conscience is clear you can sleep straight at night, get on with your life and waste not a second more on this lie.

Couldn't agree more, why bother with the hassle of 'getting them back', especially when you haven't even lost anything in the first place. They asked for money, you say no, end of story.i know this would be an easy time in getting back at them as others have said if you could get a statment from the nextdoor

But surely you should be able to reverse the odd lorry here and their into your gates and expect them not to go all wonky on ya ? ? ?
Stu
in 30 years 4 cars have come to grief and a wagon on my wooden gatepost .its 140 years old and about 12 inch square and 5 foot high

I remember 'adjusting' our front gates with the front bumper of my mum's mk2 Escort![]()

My flippin' sister "adjusted" the side of my Lancia Beta coupe by dragging the entire length of it down my mums gate post back in 1989 . . . rather than stop in the first few inches . . .I remember 'adjusting' our front gates with the front bumper of my mum's mk2 Escort![]()

What is it with women taking this approach? My flippin' sister "adjusted" the side of my Lancia Beta coupe by dragging the entire length of it down my mums gate post back in 1989 . . . rather than stop in the first few inches . . .![]()
