Curtains/screens

Not really sure where to put this one.
I'd like to buy some curtains for my garage to form a welding bay around my workbench. I keep some expensive bikes and other stuff in my garage which I want to keep spatter, sparks from grinding etc off. Previously I've just moved all the stuff well away and I've managed but now my garage is filling up and I have not used the welder for a while as I don't really have the space.
I notice most screens I have seen come with a metal frame but is a frame really needed? or could I just hang the curtains from the ceiling rafters (ceiling is about 7' high).
I have seen canvas screens and PVC screens.

They say they are made for use with their frame but does anyone know if I could use them alone, hung from the ceiling rafters? Also they say they are for protecting other people from the arc, does anyone know if they will also stop spatter and sparks?

can't see why they can't be hung off rafter. I think they offer some protection from sparks etc. but are more for the UV protection.

I've got some welding curtains - fairly heavy green ones, woven criss cross stitch reinforcement. They have been good. They are in a frame purely so they can be moved around to wherever they are needed, and there is nothing to hang them off. Can't see any problem hanging them from the rafters - as long as the wind can't get to them to blow them about - go for it.

Get a fire blanket like this and ring rivet the edge and "hang it" off a rail with curtain rings

I've one which I ocassionally hang from the ceiling. Works fine but they're not very heat proof (at least, mine isn't). Burnt a bloody great hole in mine with something I'd just welded.

Hi,

hot swarf from a grinder will burn through it too if you direct too much in one spot.
