I see that JET ran its final test last week and is now "History". The international Fusion project "ITER" in southern France is miles behind schedule and vastly over budget. Britain left the project after Brexit and has decided not to re-join. ITER needs small amounts of tritium gas to make it work, but world production of tritium is declining (currently, about 100g per year). Some wags are saying by the time ITER is ready to run, it will be hard to find the tritium. The latter has a half-life of 12.5 years, so cannot be stored for long periods.
