been watching a few demo /review on ct-1 , sounds very good

anyone use it ? good as they say?

dont have any projects in mind , but just sounds handy

Might have been an unfair trial but they claim it works when wet etc.
I used it on a metal plate to seal a hole in our gutter from underneath. Flat metal gutter - used a flat sheet of ali about A5 size. Covered it in CT1 - and pop rivetted it in place. Rained after a few hours and it started leaking from under the plate - still leaks to this day.
Might have been better if it had longer to dry but it says sets underwater.

Imo...it's excellent. Does why it says on the tube. Best to clean the substrates with Multisolve. I've fixed loads of gutter leaks with / without using Multisolve.

Only thing I've found it not to work on was a split heating oil tank.

Slash a full plastic cup of water with a craft knife. You can seal over the gap, running water and all. Turn the cup round, slash the other side and you can put the mastic nozzle underwater and seal the gap from inside the cup.

It is a specific example of a generic class of hybrid sealer. OB1 is the same chemical, as is Everbuild Stixall as is Soudel Fixall as is Screwfix' X8.

One thing in its favour is that it does seem to have a longer shelf life than normal silicone. If you cap the end, the tube will still be usable in a year's time.

I'd probably rate Sticks Like **** and the Dogs B@ll@cks about the same.

Stuck a load of ceramic tiles on with all 3, some overhead in reveals.

I've also used C-tec Grab n Bond by the people who make CT1 to stick tiles direct to marine ply.

It was cheap a few months ago at the Jumble so I bought a few tubes.
Used as seam sealer on a van with no leaks and used as an adhesive for insulation panels and to seal a cable entry and glue a Junction box on a roof no issues yet but I am a big fan of Sika 522 with 205 primer, not cheap but fantastic stuff all depends on what you are doing really.
The gutter job I place a match stick etc under any joints so I still have 3-5mm of goo in the gap, Sika gave me this top tip as they see people using sealant in a sandwich type joint but then squash it all out.

I saw this done at a tool show, amazing, bought a box there and then.....
However, I'm far too tight to go using it and now - 8yrs later- the last tube's solid
I love it, especially when the client's paying. There was a time when CT1 was the only formulation like it, thankfully many others have copied it and there are slightly cheaper alternatives.
Unless it's a real emergency, I now buy the Screwfix knock off.... Still feels spendy & I've not done the beaker of water trick with the knock off but I'm more careful to match contents of tube to application.

I use it at work. It's great for sticking slate or marble together.
Only down side is it has very little grab.

I've been using it for quite a while...seems to do the job.

I got fed up with the mortar falling out of my slate coping stones so I did the joints with ct1 (lots of masking off etc)...it's held up very well indeed.

Done many years ago...still going strong.

The stones kept falling off because slate (I believe) is just compressed layers of clay/silt/mud?....stuck them down with Wickes grab adhesive...so far they've all stayed stuck!
