According to Lloyds bank I am not even allowed to have a mortgage

Was Midlands customer then changed to HSBC who have closed down the branch and removed ATM.

Was using Stockton branch but that was going/now cashless.

All as good as each other afaic.

im in stocton branch for my business but had a great barney with them getting a private account so got one from Barclays might not be a lot .it has over 30 grand in it from pension .its a good job they can just drop peoples accounts and not bother loosing it thats just one person

I think the clue is in the name.
Seems to be since 2008 concentrating most of their activities in that part of the world.
Would be a real shame if they get their fingers burnt, all the 5hite will roll down hill onto the customers.

They seem to be a law unto themselves, Lloyds. They told me I had to watch some silly video about money lending and financial risks, before they could process my loan application. It was the law. Nobody else I know has ever heard of that....

So they knew my situation, foreign income, then they faffed about for 15 minutes trying to get this 'compulsory' video to play on their PC monitor, then they gave up, and then they told me I can't have the re-mortgage anyway.

Said solicitor should give you a quote for legal work its normal every day business, if its not find a new solicitor.

It's a specialised solicitor. But they are not the problem it's the Bank.

I joined at 18, 1978, finally severed ties 6 years ago. We had major issues some ten years ago when they penalised me for not making a card payment, despite me having set up a minimum payment. A half dozen visits to the branch did no good, so I moved everything but my mortgage and one current account to HSBC.

Lloyds TSB just seem to be totally incompetent. They would stop my credit cards at random, for 'just routine checks', a few times a year, and I'd have to go into the bank to get it sorted out. Annoying, and frustrating, with the amount of travel I used to do working offshore.

Several times they wrote to me, asking me to go into the branch for an urgent meeting.... which turned out to be them trying to lend me money, or get me to invest in some investment scheme or other.

Doesn't seem to have been a problem with my mortgage or re-mortgages over the years though?

It's not the law, it's their internal system for due diligence. Last year I started two saving accounts and watching the videos, twice, is part of their system application process requiring the video to be played. Whilst it was on the girl explained it was essential to proceed, she said she'd lost count of the times she'd sat through it.
