I got a crap response from Machine Mart

Ordered plunge saw rails about a month ago....never recieved....only after I chased them did they inform me that they were out of stock until mid march
Then they asked me for a review......you can imagine what that was

Shame that I thought they were nearer to me I just googled there address but they are a bit to far from me and I am not going past in the near future else I could have picked em up and posted to you .

Well I would order more bits but it’s a machine I’ve sold to a member on here and I’m sorting it before it gets collected. The belt is decent on it.

Even Tesco have a minimum order under which they charge a fee. I've had a few emails recently form engineering suppliers to say they will be applying charges if minimum orders aren't met - I guess it just covers the standard costs of admin which are the same for small orders as larger - but more easily absorbed in the larger orders.

We wouldn't pay to work, so its understandable, if irritating.

Its not the minimum order charge that gets me, its that they won't supply you what you want and just charge you, you have to find other crap to buy to make it up

I think if you place the order for a few quid, they would simply charge you the 25 quid as a minimum charge - they will warn you before I guess. Certainly had that with suppliers - only want one, but we buy several to make minimum order - they then sit in our stores, cost us more to count for stock check for a few years, then we chuck 'em . .

if you buy 10p O ring from the Hydraulic Supermarket in Gloucester over 20 years ago it would cost you a tenner even if you paid cash over the counter. I don’t know what the minimum charge is now.

I’d have no idea where to start with the spring as it’s missing. It must be fairly strong to hold a gear in place while spinning at 1400rpm. Better to buy it for the few quid it is

Carparts4less and EuroCarParts are usually pretty useless to deal with, but their minimum spend for free postage is only £15 and at least you can usually find something to pad out the order.
