Someone posted this on another forum, I asked how it was mounted and the base fits on the towhitch with a couple of ratchet straps back to the Isofix (child seat mount) brackets

a few years ago I did fit an electric hoist designed for a wheelchair to my polo when I needed up pick up a spare engine.
it ended up being given away to someone on here many years ago, the 12V rams worked well. I just drilled 2 holes in the boot floor to mount the base and used a couple of existing holes in the inner wheel arch.

You can’t argue with the ingenuity at play here! I suppose as long as he doesn’t try to pick the front of another car up everything will be fine… it does make you wonder what life a car has lived before you buy a second hand one… but I can’t imagine there’s many folk using isofix points for a counterbalance crane!

One place I worked welded the Iso fix brackets onto seat frames as part of the frame build process, the customer wanted to switch from bare to coated brackets so paid us to design and build a machine to remove the coating on the bit that was welded, I think it cost about £12k to build and probably ran for an hour during trials before the customer changed their mind and stayed with the original brackets
The machine gathered dust for a few months before we stripped it for re-cycling which reminds me I still have all the control gear in a box, I really should sort it out to sell.

It was given to me, I made it into an electric engine hoist to swap some Vectra engines on my own
It's still in one of my sheds
