Just watched this and thought it was cool.
Anyone seen a chuck like the one on the pillar drill. That looks useful as well.
sod ding thing won't undo
line the drill up with the centre of the V
Yeah but how used is it going to be...lolIt's an eBay special keyless chuck, link. I'd rather spend an extra tenner or so on a used Albrecht.
Only if you have a latheNeat little trick. Easy to knock up the drilling guide in a lathe and away you go
use a centerdrill in the drill chuck 1st and it wontWe have a cordless drill that does that, which has resulted in the aformentioned worn knurling. I have recently found that if you undo it slightly (it does sort of undo a bit then seizes) then tap the jaws with a drift, everything suddenly starts to undo. Probably just needs oiling, but If I do, and it then doesn't grip drills (another of its problems) I'm worse off than ever.
That is the awkward part, small dia bits have a habit of wandering off on curved surfaces.

I have a lathe, but now realise I need a bigger one, ref my post yeasterday, life is never simple
More toys just create bigger problems
Better off making a tool holder drill if you have a latheNeat little trick. Easy to knock up the drilling guide in a lathe and away you go

Always on center.
Another half finished project of mine.
As maker said.
Aquired a flexi drill for that task from you as it goes.
