Stop checks of vehicles is bread and butter for police. If you are going to do it, do it properly. Of course, uniform police aren't investigating all the unsolved murders, rapes and robberies, particularly in the early hours. However, they do arrest murderers, rapists and robbers by carrying out thourough traffic stops.
