I covered it with sand prior to anything else. So, pretty much, once id cracked away the surface, it was just sand. I had to chip away a bit of nhl lime, but nothing that significant.
On your job, the bit of pipe with the chaps hand on, in the photo, will be in the concrete, but the pushfit bend below will, with luck, have been shielded from the concrete by the cellotex.
So, you could be brutal, and accept destruction of the "hand" bit, and (hopefully) be able to slot into the protected bit without bother?
Yes, I think I might get away with it...I doubt it was protected with a proper collar on the DPC but it should have given it a bit of protection. Otherwise I've got to get through the mesh too
