yep I use nitrile as well, I think you have to be carefull if they burn as the fumes are very toxic, I ^think^ the outgas will absorb through skin as well.

The ends of my thumbs tend to suffer mostly if I do a lot of dry work without gloves, a good wash and dry of the split and a dab of superglue usually does the trick!

As above, moisturising regularly or at least as soon as you notice them drying is the best prevention. I have found Germolene liquid plaster applied over the cracks helps a bit, stings like a **** when applying and needs re-applying fairly regular but does helps a bit.

Another vote for the Germoline stuff. yeah it REALLY stings when you put it on, but it DOES work. I get splits on my thumbs, and have done for years, and this stuff always helps.
