Well the hot weather came and went over the long weekend so we went for a 565 mile road trip instead, taking in Cairngorm, Balmoral, Dunrobin Castle and John o'Groats.
Today it was a lot colder, 15dec and blowing a gale, but had no reason to put off the painting any further. Now I haven't tried a spot repair before so tried it this way.
I sanded with 1000 grit a long way back from the repair area first then masked up the car.
A few coats of base coat applied with gun facing away from the making, the colour match looked good.
Masked up again a bit further back with a soft edge.
Two coats of clear.
There is actually a dry edge around the edge of the new clear that doesn't show up in the picture, I will sand this is a few days and then polish.
Overall I'm pleased with the results.
