Avoided it until a few weeks back, floored me for a couple days, throat still is bad weeks later, it nearly killed my old man - he caught it so bad I was literally carrying him out of bed to the toilet because he couldn't move. Then caught it looking after him, wasn't pleasant and I'm vac'd and boosted. Wouldn't have wanted it without, especially after seeing him.

Neither I nor wifey have been laid low so far. Not had even a cold in years.
Probably condemned us to all sorts of lurgy now.

not realy i took a friend to hospital in my van and was well ill coughing and barking and had celulitis admitted and tested with covid as well . i never caught it and have worked none stop in a load of old folks houses who had carers going in touch wood havent caught anything

Being in peoples houses and being in direct contact with multiple confirmed covid patients every day isn't really the same thing.

Did you strip off to your underwear at your front door, segregate all and any work clothes/related items and immediately shower every night? I'd say that's pretty diligant.

but being in someones house for half a day and having them in my van without a mask who has it coughing all over dont get much worse. brother in law had it and died but sis didnt catch it of him or the kids work that one out

Not all people are susceptible to all strains, not all encounters with someone who has it will result in infection.

You might be naturally immune to it.

I seem to be on the mend now.
Still rough but not taken any meds today .
Trying a bottle of grape juice see if that helps .
At one stage I felt like a 64 year old bloke .
Need a negative result on sunday so I can go back to work .

3 days since testing positive .
Starting to feel human again.
No sense of taste or smell yet.
The aking body and bad head have subsided .
I have been off work as advised .
If i test negative should be ok for monday
Strange thing the wife tested positive but has no symptoms .
I had them all .
It is bad when your hair hurts

Wait till you get the Covid related squits .. suggest you get a tub of Drapoline in pdq & the softens bog roll available .

Something like 15% of people will never get covid . I read in The Times a couple of months ago , latest published research appears to indicate that those with Neanderthal & Human DNA that has a certain pattern will get it fairly bad .
I guess most of you will also realise lots of people have it but don't test positive . & many had it October 2019 to Jan 2020 long before China told the world they had a new disease problem that was killing thousands if not millions of people in China .

I believe that may have been the case for me around November 2019. Wiped me out for weeks whatever it was

Lady friend of mine is fully vaxxed, and works as a carer. She has AF and a couple of other ailments so is very very careful about catching it. But somehow she got a dose and was really bad. Taste, smell, she lost both, and her voice went all high pitched and squeaky for a month.
But she is better now.

My ex wife had it two years ago, also a carer, fully vaxxed, off work for two months, taste, smell gone, but also paralysed her eyes, her pupils did not dilate in bright light etc.

My eldest sister had it, felt a bit rough, but tested positive every day for two weeks.

Very strange disease.

The ex wife's live in boyfriend never caught it off of her, or he was one of the 1 in 3 who show zero symptoms when infected.

I had those and they lasted about 3 days. I'm over most of it but still have no energy and congestion like I have to clear my throat all the time.. Before I got it I thought it was all a bit hyped up but now I realise how it could affect someone who is a bit susceptible. I have breathing problems at times from having TB in my 30s.

I had something real bad January 2020. I thought I'd picked it up from cleaning out our wheelie bin, when one of our charming neighbours took my squeaky clean one and left me their maggot ridden stinking cesspit in return. The symptoms sound familiar to Covid.
